How many cabins are on the property?

There are 3 cabins on the property and a community pavilion for all guests.

Are there RV spots available for rent?


There is one full RV spot for rent at $40/night.

When may I check in? What time is check out?

DWR welcomes responsible owners with non-aggressive, house-broken, dogs. There is a non-refundable pet deposit of up to $125. Contact for details. Visit Our Contact Page.

We respectfully request that you do not use the cabin as a dog kennel for unattended pets. Pet owners must pick up after pets. Please do not chain your pet to the porch or landscape around the cabins/pavilion as this could cause damage to the property.

Is Wi-Fi and cable available in the cabins?


Each cabin does have wi-fi and cable tv. Wi-Fi can be a bit spotty because of the location of the cabins.

Smoking policy?

The Dancing Winds Cabins are smoke-free. Please do not smoke in or around the cabins/pavilion. If you must smoke, please smoke in open-air areas and always dispose of your cigarettes correctly.

Are the cabins fully equipped?

Each cabin is fully equipped with the following amenities. A stove top, a toaster, a mini fridge, a microwave, and a coffeemaker, in addition to all the necessary dish ware and cookware. The shared pavilion does have a full oven, full fridge, grill, and pantry for your use.

Will my cabin come with sheets and towels?

Yes, each cabin in equipped with fresh white sheets and clean towels at no extra cost.

Are horses allowed?

DWR welcomes responsible owners of horses at $8 per horse, per night. Must call for horse corral availability.

Is the Cleaning Fee refundable?

The cleaning fee is non-refundable. DWR wants to ensure that each guest is provided with a clean cabin upon arrival.

What kinds of clothes should I pack?

  • Spring - Mixed weather - Jackets, pants, rain boots, shorts, sandals
  • Summer - shorts, t-shirts, sandals for the day - jacket, pants, tennis shoes for the nights Fall - thick jackets, pants, boots, layers
  • Winter - Snow clothes and snow boots. Lots of layers and thick clothing.
    There are lots of hiking nearby, so don’t forget your hiking shoes and comfortable hiking clothes, remember to bring LAYERS.

Don’t forget your swim suits and flip-flops to enjoy the water activities and hot springs nearby!

Is there air conditioning?

The three cabins do not have air conditioning. The cool summer months and the frequent afternoon thunderstorms allow the cabins to stay cool enough in the summer to not need it. We do offer a box fan to help with circulation.

Is there heating?

All three cabins provide heat through the gas fireplace and from an electric heater. The log cabins have been excellent in insulating the space with the generous help from the fireplace and electric heater.

Is there a telephone available at the cabins?

Yes, there is a telephone located in each cabin, all connected to the same phone line. Allowing incoming and outgoing calls

Are there cleaning supplies?

Yes, we offer basic cleaning supplies in case of any accidents during your stay.

What should I do if I have an issue with the cabin?

Please contact the camp host or owners immediately.

Are there shopping areas nearby?

The closest shopping area would be Pagosa Springs, 16 miles from town.

Do you offer services other than lodging?

As of now, we do not offer any other services other than lodging.

Do you allow weddings at your cabins / on your property?

Yes! We would love to host any wedding at our ranch. We believe the view would provide the most beautiful mountain background for your wedding photos.

Will there be other vacationers nearby?

If you are renting only 1 cabin, then yes, it is possible that there will be other vacationers in the other cabins. If you are renting all 3 cabins, you will have the property and view all to yourselves (minus our camp host).

Are there any handicap accessible cabins available?

Our cabins are not handicap accessible as the front porch has 2 steps.

Is hunting allowed on or near the property?

Absolutely NO hunting on the property and no accessing the National Forest from the property for hunting purposes.
